Playing around with the inputs, I'm currently figuring the following: What does this show? Forget about the specific seconds it's the ratio between them that's interesting. OK, now, what happens to these survival times with different combinations of gem? Tier If I use the idea that anything under 3 seconds is very risky, this feels about right (I can clear GR35 on this character without defensive gems, but I don't feel comfortable going higher. Assumes the gems are level 40 (this is a bit ambitious for me but, future proofing!).įighting the RG on T6, standing still and eating every hit, and assuming they never wandered away like they sometimes do, I would die in about 12.8 seconds. I based my calculations around "time to live" - factoring in the initial shield (from Molten's L25), as well as LPS. I'm ignoring life on hit, per kill, and health globes - in order to give a 'worst case scenario'. My survivability is based on a Wizard (my seasonal class of choice) and damage based on Sand Shaper's average damage (seemingly a standard enough RG).įrom gear and passives, I used 1,000,000 health 8,000 armor 1,400 average resistance, 51% melee damage reduction (from Halo of Arlyse), and 25,000 life per second (including Templar - I geared towards this for the Molten Gizzard). Obviously there are many variables and assumptions that go into any calculation like this. I'm a hardcore character, so this stuff is important! I couldn't find one, so I spent 45 minutes with Excel and D3 open and calculated the effectiveness of each defensive combination. Has anyone done a comprehensive comparison of the various defensive gems now available to determine which one is best? Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade Thread
